Day 1: Arrival in Iquitos

​

Upon your arrival at the airport in Iquitos Peru (coronel FAP Fransisco Secada Vignetta International Airport), a Nature Horizons team member will be there waiting to greet you. We will take a short 20-minute ride to your hotel accommodation for night 1. When you arrive at the hotel, you will receive a briefing on your tour itinerary and meet your guides that you will be with for your entire fishing tour. The rest of the day is yours to relax and prepare for your tour departure tomorrow morning bright and early. As always, if you need any assistance or would like to explore the town, your guide will be there to assist you at a moment's notice.

Day 2: Drive to Nauta, Nanai River Fishing Expedition

​

At 5:30 am, we will have a light breakfast and coffee before checking out of your hotel. We will start our 1.5-hour drive to Nauta, where we will prepare to enter the boat to head out on our fishing excursion.

 

 

We leave from SANTA CLARA PORT, located on the Nanay River northwest of Iquitos.

We will head out toward adventure in our fishing boats, where a maximum of two people will enter in each boat. We will go to the Mishana base camp; we will travel approximately three hours upriver.

This CAMP is situated in the ALLPAHUAYO-MISHANA NATIONAL RESERVE, where we will spend two nights.

We arrive at the camp facilities with a welcome drink, then the coordination and preparation of fishing gear will take place here.

Lunch will be served buffet-style. Once our gear is all prepared to set out on an epic fishing trip, we can relax and enjoy dinner, the sunset, wildlife, and the sounds of nature as we end day 2.

Day 3: Fishing Expedition in Lakes (YARANA, YUTO and TIPISHCA) for a full-day fishing trip 

 

 

We will get up early at 6:00 am and head out to the lakes (YARANA, YUTO and TIPISHCA) for a full-day fishing trip. We will return to camp at 6:00 pm. 

Today, breakfast and lunch will be a packed lunch that we take with us on the boat to enjoy on the river.  

At the end of each fishing day, after dinner, we can go out on a nighttime fishing trip where we will be searching for giant catfish, manta rays, etc. 

 

 

Day 4: Fishing Tour in PINTUYACU River

Breakfast will be served at the sunrise at 6 am. After we do our gear check, we will pack up everything and move to another area. Upstream of the Nanay River, there is a new tributary called the PINTUYACU River, where we will sleep in RAYA PUEBLO (village). 

Today, fishing will take place along the Pintuyacu River and its lakes. In the middle of the day or at your request, we will have our packed lunch while relaxing on the banks of the Amazon river.

On this day, we will be back at camp around 4 or 5 pm, where we will enjoy our dinner together as the sun sets and share stories about our day and plan for our next day ahead. 

 

 

Day 5: Fishing in the lakes (Savoya, Anguilla and Negro) 

​

We will get up early at 6:00 am to continue with the expedition and adventure; we will keep on navigating 30 minutes upriver from Nanay River approximately until we reach the MONTE CALVARIO village. Breakfast will be served on the boat while we are heading upriver. 

We will camp in the village and immediately we will go fishing in the lakes (Savoya, Anguilla and Negro). After we complete our full day of fishing, we will again return to the campsite and enjoy our dinner together. 

 

 

 

Day 6:  SAMITO Lake Fishing Expedition

On this day, we will wake up late, around 8 am, and breakfast will be served. We are now heading back to Iquitos.

We will pack up all the things and head to the LAGUNAS village to fish in SAMITO Lake. Lunch will be a packed lunch to enjoy while fishing on the boat. We will enjoy dinner together. The fishing trip is coming to an end soon, and we at LUPUNA JUNGLE TOURS are so happy that we have introduced you to the Amazon River.

 

 

Day 7: LLANCHAMA Lake Fishing Expedition 

​

 Today we will wake up with the sun and enjoy breakfast together before setting out. 

We will keep coming back by the Nanay River until we get to another place called the Llanchama Village, where we will have our lunch. We will continue fishing in LLANCHAMA Lake until it's time to head back to Nauta and return to Iquitos. We will stop and have dinner together once we reach Nauta. Congratulations, you just completed your fishing tour on the mighty Amazon River. When we get to Iquitos, we will check into your hotel for the night, and you can prepare for your flight home tomorrow. Once everyone is settled and relaxed, we will have our ceremony of completion of the fishing expedition and a certificate for everyone along with a special gift. 

 

 

Day 8: Departure Day 

Your guide will be with you from the morning until it is time to take you to the airport for your departure home.
