8 DAYS AMAZON RAINFOREST FISHING EXPEDITION

(Catch and Release)

👉 ITINERARY

DAY ONE

​

  1. ​Arrival in Iquitos: Upon your arrival at the airport in Iquitos, Peru (Coronel FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta International Airport), a Nature Horizons team member will be waiting to greet you. We will take a short 20-minute ride to your hotel accommodation for night one.

  2. Hotel Check-in & Tour Briefing: Once you arrive at the hotel, you will receive a briefing about your tour itinerary and meet the guides who will accompany you throughout your fishing tour.

  3. Free Time & Preparation: The rest of the day is free for you to relax and prepare for your departure early the next morning. If you need assistance or wish to explore the city, your guide will be available to help you at any time.

DAY TWO

​

  1. Drive to Nauta & Departure from Nanay River: At 5:30 am, we will have a light breakfast and coffee before checking out of your hotel. We will begin a 1.5-hour drive to Nauta to prepare for our fishing excursion.
    We depart from Santa Clara Port, located on the Nanay River northwest of Iquitos.

  2. River Navigation to Mishana Base Camp: We will head into the adventure aboard our fishing boats (maximum two people per boat). We will travel approximately three hours upriver toward the Mishana base camp.

  3. Arrival at Allpahuayo-Mishana National Reserve: The camp is located inside the Allpahuayo-Mishana National Reserve, where we will stay for two nights. Upon arrival, you will receive a welcome drink, followed by coordination and preparation of fishing equipment.

  4. Lunch & Fishing Preparation: Lunch will be served buffet-style. After preparing the fishing gear, we will get ready for an unforgettable fishing experience.

  5. Sunset, Dinner & Relaxation: At the end of the day, you may relax and enjoy dinner, the sunset, wildlife observation, and the natural sounds of the jungle.

  6. Lodging: Overnight stay at the camp and relaxation time.

DAY THREE

​

  1. Full-Day Fishing Expedition (Yarana, Yuto & Tipishca Lakes): We will wake up early at 6:00 am and depart toward the lakes Yarana, Yuto, and Tipishca for a full-day fishing adventure. We will return to the camp at approximately 6:00 pm.

  2. Meals on the River: Breakfast and lunch will be packed meals that we will take with us on the boat to enjoy along the river during the excursion.

  3. Night Fishing Adventure: After dinner, there will be the opportunity to go on a nighttime fishing trip in search of giant catfish, manta rays, and other nocturnal species.

  4. Overnight Stay: Return to the camp for rest and overnight accommodation.

DAY FOUR

​

  1. Breakfast & Departure: Breakfast will be served at sunrise at 6:00 am. After checking our fishing gear, we will pack our belongings and move to a new area.

  2. Navigation to Pintuyacu River: Upstream from the Nanay River, we will travel to a tributary called the Pintuyacu River, where we will stay in Raya Pueblo (local village).

  3. Fishing Along the River & Lakes: Fishing activities will take place along the Pintuyacu River and its surrounding lakes. Around midday, or at your request, we will enjoy a packed lunch while relaxing on the riverbanks.

  4. Return, Dinner & Evening Activities: We will return to camp around 4:00–5:00 pm. In the evening, we will enjoy dinner together at sunset, share stories about the day, and plan the activities for the following day.

  5. Overnight Stay: Accommodation and rest in the local village.

DAY FIVE

​

  1. Early Morning Navigation: We will wake up early at 6:00 am to continue our expedition and adventure. We will navigate approximately 30 minutes upriver from the Nanay River until we reach Monte Calvario village. Breakfast will be served on the boat during the journey.

  2. Camp Setup in the Village: Upon arrival, we will establish our camp in the village and prepare for the day’s activities.

  3. Fishing in the Lakes (Savoya, Anguilla & Negro): We will head out for a full day of fishing in the lakes Savoya, Anguilla, and Negro, exploring the area and enjoying the Amazon wilderness.

  4. Dinner & Relaxation: After completing the fishing day, we will return to the campsite to relax and enjoy dinner together.

  5. Overnight Stay: Overnight accommodation at the camp in the village.

DAY SIX

​

  1. Breakfast & Return Journey: On this day, we will wake up later, around 8:00 am, and breakfast will be served. Afterwards, we will begin our journey back toward Iquitos.

  2. Camp Setup in the Village: Upon arrival, we will establish our camp in the village and prepare for the day’s activities.

  3. Fishing at Samito Lake: We will pack our belongings and travel to Lagunas village to continue fishing activities at Samito Lake.

  4. Lunch on the Boat: Lunch will be a packed meal to enjoy on the boat while fishing.

  5. Dinner & Farewell: In the evening, we will enjoy dinner together as the fishing expedition comes to an end. The team at Lupuna Jungle Tours will thank you for sharing this unforgettable Amazon experience with us.

  6. Overnight / End of Activities: End of the day’s activities and preparation for the final departure.

DAY SEVEN

​

  1. Breakfast & Departure: Today we will wake up with the sunrise and enjoy breakfast together before setting out for the return journey.

  2. Navigation to Llanchama Village: We will continue navigating along the Nanay River until reaching Llanchama Village, where lunch will be served.

  3. Fishing at Llanchama Lake: After lunch, we will continue fishing activities at Llanchama Lake until it is time to begin our return to Nauta and then back to Iquitos.

  4. Return to Nauta & Dinner: Upon arrival in Nauta, we will stop to enjoy dinner together.

  5. Return to Iquitos & Hotel Check-in: Afterwards, we will continue to Iquitos and check into your hotel for the night so you can prepare for your flight home the next day.

  6. Farewell Ceremony: Once everyone is settled and relaxed, we will hold a closing ceremony of the fishing expedition. Each participant will receive a certificate of completion along with a special gift.

DAY EIGHT

​

  1. Morning Assistance: Your guide will accompany you in the morning and assist you with any final arrangements.

  2. Transfer to the Airport: At the appropriate time, we will transfer you to the airport for your return flight home.

  3. End of Services: End of our services and farewell from the team. We wish you a pleasant journey home and hope to see you again in the Amazon.
